A sixth-grade student at Suhaila Basic Education School created a smart traffic light to facilitate the movement of police, ambulance and civil defense vehicles, in emergency situations, by adding blue lighting to the traffic light, to become four-lighting (green, yellow, red and blue).

Student Maryam Saud Al-Khatri explained the idea of the project that it depends on adding blue to the three traffic lights, in addition to blue ground lights, and is used to define the path for the passage of both ambulances, police and civil defense, noting that the added signal helps to avoid congestion at traffic lights and ensure Emergency response speed.

She added that the streets lack emergency pathways, and therefore it is necessary to install an additional blue signal for traffic lights with a blue floor lighting used to mark the path for the passage of both ambulances, police and civil defense.

It stated that this signal, which operates automatically when any of the three cars (police, ambulance and civil defense) pass, contributes greatly to regulating traffic, and saving emergency situations that may lose their lives due to traffic congestion, and the failure of these cars to pass in time.

She noted that she had received great support from her family and school to implement the project, noting that she would like to contribute to reducing traffic accidents, to enhance road safety in the Emirates.

Innovation reduces traffic accidents and enhances road safety.
