This is stated in the decision of the WHO emergency committee following the meeting.

“The Committee believes that it is still possible to interrupt the spread of the virus if countries take strict measures to early recognize the disease, isolate and treat the sick, and track their contacts,” RIA Novosti quotes the decision.

WHO also recommends that countries “encourage measures of social distance that are commensurate with risk.”

At the same time, the committee noted that “with the development of the situation, strategic goals and measures will be developed to prevent and reduce the risks of infection”.

Earlier, WHO recognized the outbreak of coronavirus in China as an emergency of international importance.
