The president of the Republicans Christian Jacob accuses Emmanuel Macron of having "deceived the French" on the pension reform, also castigating an "unprecedented contempt" of the parliament, in an interview with Le Figaro published on Tuesday.

"By saying that he would not touch the legal retirement age, Emmanuel Macron deceived the French, he made up his mind," assures Mr. Jacob.

"When we say that we are reforming while putting the budget off until later, we are lying to the French," he adds, deploring that "there will be no debate in the National Assembly on the funding of this budget of more than 300 billion euros. "

According to him, the financing conference planned between the social partners "risks turning into a Lépine competition for increases in contributions and reductions in pensions, in the end, going through prescriptions".

"It is a complete and unprecedented contempt for parliament, I do not understand why the president of the National Assembly and the members of the majority allow themselves to be humiliated," he deplores.

The boss of the Republicans jokes that the head of state "was also committed to creating a universal regime. However, each day that passes, he loose more on special regimes" which means that "there will have more exemptions after the reform than before ".

LR wants to lower the retirement age to 64 and then 65, with compensation for arduous work and small pensions.
