His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, has ordered the construction of a tunnel that runs from under the Fujairah Airport, linking the city of Fujairah directly to the residential city of “Mohammed Bin Zayed”, to facilitate movement between the two cities at a cost of 50 million dirhams.
His Highness directed the Fujairah municipality to start making the necessary plans for the construction of the tunnel, which is about 500 meters in length, and to equip it with all the necessary facilities to ensure its implementation in a manner that matches the civilizational and population growth witnessed by the emirate, and reflects positively on the ease of movement and economic growth.
