"On the basis of the dynamics ascertained so far, it is to be assumed that the car was running at excess speed". This was communicated by the Bolzano prosecutor's office , confirming the driver's blood alcohol level of 1.97 g / l. Two wounded are still life threatening. The suspect was arrested for violating art. 589-bis of the penal code aggravated by drunk driving and the plurality of victims with a maximum penalty of 18 years imprisonment.

The Prosecutor also informs that he started the preliminary investigations immediately after the serious accident. During the morning the public prosecutor in charge participated in an inspection and reconstructed the dynamics of the accident on the basis of the elements currently available. The victims all got off a bus that came from Cadipietra and was headed south. The accident site is located in Lutago di Sopra, it was illuminated, with a speed limit of 50 km and near the pedestrian crossings. The bus driver stopped at a point on the road indicated as a bus stop. To get to their hotel, the victims had to cross the road and walk a few steps north. The car came from the south. At present it is not clear at what height of the roadway the first pedestrian was hit. Immediately after the investment, the driver lost control of his car and collided with a pile of debris on the right side of the road. A possible appraisal will be assessed to determine the speed of the vehicle. The suspect's car and cell phone were confiscated. The evidentiary material will be analyzed in the coming days. The driver underwent a breathalyzer test. The test resulted in the presence of a minimum rate of 1.97 g / l of alcohol in the blood. Blood and urine samples were also taken. In the morning, cadaveric surveys were carried out at the hospital in Bolzano. The causes of death are clear, therefore an autopsy will not be necessary. As soon as the corpses are recognized by the relatives, the authorization for the burial will be given, concludes the note of the Prosecutor.
