US President Donald Trump said Friday that Iran's Quds Force Commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US air strike, was planning to kill Americans.

"General Qassem Soleimani killed thousands of Americans, one dead and wounded, over a long period of time and he was planning to kill more and more," Trump wrote in his tweet.

"Iran has never won a war, but it has not lost negotiations," the US president said in a tweet.
