The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment called for the use of organic pesticides, derived from plant origin, to control agricultural pests.

In a recent report, she pointed to the need to use natural enemies to control pests, by relying on integrated pest management, which includes all elements of control, in addition to training pesticide users in the best way to use them, and ensuring that pesticides are provided only to the competent and qualified people for that, In order to avoid injuries and dangerous accidents, and in compliance with safety and security standards, before, after and during the use of pesticides.

She said that public safety measures should be taken for workers using pesticides, by providing protective clothing, paws, masks, and goggles, and providing warning panels to the public in pesticide spraying areas, during the proposed safety period from pesticide manufacturers.

The Ministry provided an electronic guide to registered pesticides, aimed at providing the necessary information to the public about pesticides registered for authorized local companies, and contributing to curbing illegal trade in pesticides not registered with the ministry.

The guide contains public health pesticides and agricultural pesticides that have been registered for companies importing pesticides in the country.

The Ministry has also prepared a guide for inspectors, which includes control and inspection mechanisms for pesticide circulation in the country, with the aim of reducing excessive use of pesticides from companies and individuals, and clarifying their risks, in order to ensure the application of uniform procedures at the state level for control and inspection operations.

The guide is considered one of the most important procedural methods used by the ministry to ensure tight control of pesticides and their circulation in the state, and to ensure the application of laws and legislations regulating their circulation, to avoid any incident that might lead to death or poisoning.
