Iraqi security sources said that five leaders of the Popular Mobilization were killed in the bombing that targeted just two cars on Al-Taji road, north of Baghdad.

Iraqi state television confirmed that an American air strike targeted leaders of the popular crowd on the road to Taji.

This comes a day after the killing of the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Major General Qassem Soleimani, and other Iranian officers and members of the popular crowd, including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the crowd, in a US raid that targeted two cars at Baghdad airport.
