The first period was bordered by deportations, it was mainly the guests who were allowed to spend four times on the sanitary bench. However, Björklöven's powerplay did not get a hole for a magnificent Tim Juel in Karlskoga's goal. Instead, 1-0 came through Brian Cooper when Björklöven played in numerical disadvantage.

In the second period, Björklöven continued to keep the guests at a distance. After half the period played Alex Hutchings increased the lead to 2-0 after forward play by Vesel and Larsen. Shortly thereafter it was Alexander Wiklund's turn to enter the goal record when he went 3-0 after a fine forward by Fredric Andersson.

In the third, the home team continued to steam on. After just over seven minutes, in game four against four, Alex Hutchings serves compatriot Zach Palmquist, who splashes it into the far corner, 4-0. Two minutes later, the roles are changed, in a three to one camp, Palmquist serves the puck to Huchings, who is 5-0.

With seven minutes left, Karlskoga reduces after a pass by Alexander Deilert who saves Fredrik Forsberg who scores on his own return. Closer than that Karlskoga never came, the match ended 5-1.

Björklöven fortifies the top Hockey Allsvenskan and has eight points down to Modo who, with tonight's result, goes past Karlskoga in the table.
