“Significant violations have been identified both in the organization of the activities of the units, in interaction with law enforcement agencies, and in personnel and technical support,” the agency’s website said in a statement.

It is noted that the GDB invited the public and colleagues "to constructively discuss ways to overcome the crisis, improve the efficiency of investigative and operational units", and also awaits "thorough information about the abuses of officials and law enforcement officers."

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the head of the State Security Bureau, Roman Truba, and appointed acting head of the department, Irina Venediktova.

On December 24, the Ukrainian leader signed the law on restarting the GDB.

It was clarified that the initiative is aimed at improving the organization’s activities and gives the State Security Service the status of a state law enforcement agency.
