The warning for western Vindelfjällen, that is, the mountainous regions around Hemavan and Tärnaby, constitutes a four on a five-degree scale. Thus, the warning has been extended.

- You can still ski on the slopes and go on walks where there are no steep slopes, but steep terrain can be dangerous to live in. In these conditions, avalanches go spontaneously, if you are under a steep slope, you can have bad luck and meet, says Petter Palmgren at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's avalanche forecasting service.

"The heat has awakened the sleeping dragon," according to the lava warning.

- It has been a pretty big weather change, with much much milder and windy weather, and there has been rain and snow throughout the mountain range, but especially in the northern half, says Palmgren.

At the same time, a warning of significant avalanche dangers, ie a third on the scale, has been issued for southern Lapland around Kittelfjäll, Borgafjäll and Saxnäs.

- In southern Lapland, it is important to keep a view of where it has snowed, which has blown with the wind and settled on a steep slope. Above all, one should avoid steep slopes that lean east and north, says Palmgren.

In Jämtlandsfjällen and Härjedalen, moderate avalanche danger is warned, ie a second on the scale.
