South African professional cyclist Nicholas Dlamini was violently arrested Friday in Cape Town (southwest) by rangers in Table Mountain National Park (southwest) where he was training and suffers a fracture in the arms, we learned from concordant sources.

Nicholas Dlamini "suffers from a broken arm (left) after being arrested by employees of SANPrks", the directorate of South African national parks, announced his team NTT Pro Cycling (ex-Dimension Data) in a press release.

"Nothing can justify the level of violence he has suffered," she said.

The cyclist was unable to show his entry ticket to the Table Mountain National Park, which is very popular with tourists, said SANParks.

"The situation escalated, and the suspect injured himself during the incident," she said in a statement.

On a video posted on social networks, Nicholas Dlamini, in cyclist attire, is however violently tackled on a SANParks vehicle by a ranger who twists his arm.

This injury is "a major setback" for the young 24-year-old runner, who sees his participation in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 questioned, said his team.

Nicholas Dlamini, professional since 2016, finished 107th in the Tour of Spain this year.
