The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced that the Abu Dhabi Police Emergency Center obtained the international accreditation from TUV Rheinland, the international company specialized in safety and security solutions, for the automatic call system ECall, as part of the “Fazaa” initiative recently developed by the authority, which focuses on providing vehicles with the feature of automatic communication with the emergency center In the event of a traffic accident, the system will be applied to all new cars in the country by 2021.

The Authority stated during a press conference held yesterday at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police, that through the initiative, any vehicle exposed to a traffic accident will send all the necessary information about the accident, such as the location, type of vehicle and type of fuel, in addition to the number of people who are inside the car at the time of the accident .

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority developed the "Fazaa" initiative, in cooperation with the Standards and Metrology Authority and the police authorities in the country, to activate the systems for receiving calls, with the aim of reducing the time to report vehicles that have been hit by road accidents, which will contribute to reducing the number of deaths resulting from traffic accidents, as well as Reducing acute injury cases.

The director of networks and wireless services at the authority, Mohammed Jaddah, stressed the authority’s keenness to support and activate all initiatives that raise the quality of life indicators in the Emirates, to be among the safest countries in the world, in line with the directives of the leadership, and in a way that achieves the vision of the UAE 2021, pointing out that The importance of this new system is summarized by the fact that it shortens the time of responding to accidents, and provides the competent authorities with the necessary information necessary for rescue and ambulance operations, which will play a major role in reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries.

While the Director of Operations Department at the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, Brigadier Nasser Suleiman Al Maskari, said that the Abu Dhabi Police has come a long way in introducing modern tools and technologies to the service to provide its readiness and provide its services in accordance with the highest international quality standards, which include the ecall system for automatic communication to enhance the response time for communications .

He added that the system supports the first integrated response system at the police leadership level, which aims to raise the level of effective empowerment and achieve record rates in this area.

He pointed out that the work of command and control centers in operations management in the central operations sector starts from an integrated strategy that focuses on understanding the variables and creating immediate solutions to enhance the effective response, pointing out that the administration works through its centers through an advanced database around the clock to receive all types of communications and deal with them according to The mechanisms used and providing services to the public quickly.

He stressed the Abu Dhabi Police keenness to achieve more joint cooperation with all sectors in order to continue to distinguish in police and humanitarian services and to enhance the positive and happiness values ​​of the public.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority had previously conducted all the necessary tests on the operators' networks, "Etisalat" and "Du", to ensure the network preparedness and its ability to activate and operate the ECALL system in an optimal way, as the networks of operators obtained international accreditation in 2015.

The ECall automatic communication system enables the concerned authorities in the country to reach the accident site in the shortest possible time, and this project comes as a result of three years of study and research between government and private agencies and vehicle agencies and manufacturers to determine the specifications that must be met in vehicles operating in the country to comply with this system .
