The Director General of the Saudi Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen, “Mossam”, Osama Al-Qusaibi, announced that the field teams removed 1325 mines and unexploded ordnance during the third week of December, bringing the total of what has been removed since the beginning of December until now to 7147 mines, while 1052 mines, IED and UXO were destroyed in Al-Jouf, including 50 shells and one Katyusha missile.

Al-Gosaibi said in a statement issued by the media office, "Massam", that during the past week, the teams removed 914 unexploded ordnance and two explosive devices, 397 anti-tank mines and 12 anti-personnel mines.

He added that the total amount removed by the "pores" teams since late June 2018 until December 19 this year amounted to 118,541 between mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.

In a related context, the engineering teams of the "Pore" project carried out a process of destroying and detonating 1052 mines, an explosive device and an unexploded shell in the Al-Yatima area of ​​Al-Jawf Governorate.

Colonel Amer al-Bahri, the supervisor of the teams operating in Al-Jawf Governorate, said that the destruction operation included 500 anti-armor landmines, 50 unexploded ordnance, two Katyusha missiles, 500 fuses and a capsule, in addition to dozens of munitions left over from the war.

Colonel Al-Bahri added that the missiles and mines that were destroyed were extracted by "pores" teams from a number of sites in the orphan region during the past two months, pointing out that the "pores" teams were able to clear and secure 40 fields and mined areas, most of them vital areas related to life Civilians vary between grazing areas, public roads and agricultural areas.

In this process, the "pore" teams operating in the orphan have been able to carry out 13 operations of destroying and detonating thousands of mines, explosive devices and other remnants of war.

It is noteworthy that the Yemeni army recently announced that it was able, in cooperation with the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy, to remove more than 15,000 mines in five Yemeni governorates, including 1,153 anti-personnel mines, 5,467 anti-vehicle mines, 436 homemade explosive devices, and 8775 unexploded ordnance and ammunition They have been cultivated by Houthi militias since mid-March 2015 while invading the southern governorates, including Aden, Al-Dhali ', Abyan, Lahj and Taiz.
