The International Government Communication Center, affiliated with the media office of the Government of Sharjah, invited the public of different nationalities to participate in the nomination and arbitration process, through the category of "Community Voice" of the United Arab Emirates, which was created with the aim of strengthening the community partnership in upgrading communication standards and honoring institutions That contributed to the positive impact on people's lives, through government communication campaigns.

According to the terms and criteria of this category, all groups and segments of society in the United Arab Emirates are invited to nominate an institution that implemented a government communication campaign on the award’s website directly, then followed by voting by the public.

The award will ask on its website a question about an initiative related to government communication that has had a positive impact on establishing a healthy lifestyle, raising awareness of new government services, public service announcements, or communication management during crises, etc., where the public responds by nominating campaigns that it deems appropriate, At the end of the nomination period, the top 10 candidates are chosen, and the vote is then made available to the public, in order to determine the ranks.

Regarding the objectives of this category, the director of the media office of the Sharjah government, Tariq Saeed Allai, said: “We seek to involve society in developing communication standards by measuring results and their impact on people's lives, and we aim to motivate institutions to more interact with the public.”

Allay pointed out the importance of promoting the idea of ​​communication, dialogue and interaction, as an essential feature of the Emirati society, where individuals communicate with institutions, and exchange dialogue, opinions and proposals, to improve the level of performance of institutions in general and their government communication units in particular.

Allay emphasized that the Sharjah Government Communication Award continuously enhances its position as a global, regional and international platform to advance the culture and practices of government communication, and works to activate the roles of the partner groups in the communication process, in a way that serves harmony and economic and social stability.
