Nyköping Municipality is the twelfth municipality in the country to enter into a collaboration with Uppsala University on a carbon budget.

- We have made a decision in the municipal council to grant SEK 25,000, which it costs to collaborate with Uppsala University, which works on these issues, says municipal councilor Marco Venegas (MP).

The municipality will measure emissions and then be able to take action, depending on what they come up with.

- We want to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Agreement, but it is also a signal policy to our residents so that they think more about the environment and climate.
