The inclusive national dialogue ended in Bamako on December 22. The closing ceremony brought together around 3,000 people, including the Malian President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, and former President Amadou Toumani Touré. Four resolutions were read.

" The compass of the new Mali is already decided by the national dialogue ," said Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta during the closing ceremony of the inclusive national dialogue. The first concerns future legislative elections. The mandate of the current deputies has officially ended since December 31, 2008. It has been extended twice and ends on May 2. The resolution calls for legislative elections before this date.

Another resolution insists on the organization of the next referendum and the draft of the new Constitution, with the participation of all. Security for all and the rereading of certain articles of the Algiers Peace Agreement are included in the other resolutions.

During this dialogue, the participants also spoke of governance, youth and the need to build roads between southern and northern Mali.

Coming from the North, the ex-rebels participated in the dialogue. Highlight of the meeting: a former independence rebel stood up during a plenary to say " I am Malian ". Emotion and thunderous applause.

But almost the entire opposition boycotted the meeting. " My hand remains outstretched, " said President IBK in his closing remarks.
