Nasser Amin, the private lawyer for the former Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, General Sami Annan, announced on Sunday that Annan had been released from a few hours, indicating that he is now in his home after the Military Prosecution decided to release him.
Meanwhile, member of Parliament Mustafa Bakri affirmed, in his account on the social networking site «Twitter», that “the release of Lieutenant General Sami Annan is now in his house,” according to the newspaper, “Al-Masry Al-Youm”.
And he added, "I called his son, Dr. Samir Annan, and he assured me that he is already in his house now."
The news agency Reuters and the French Press Agency also reported the release in Cairo of former Egyptian Chief of Staff Sami Annan.
Annan was referred to an investigation in January 2018 in case No. 1 of 2018 by a decision of the Military Public Prosecutor on charges of explicit legal violations, which constituted a serious violation of the rules and regulations of service to officers of the armed forces.
