The Dubai Health Authority has revealed an expansion plan that it intends to implement on the "My Drug" mobile pharmacy project, to include delivery of the drug to patients in Dubai and the northern regions, as well as adding beneficiaries of other insurance card holders, citizens and residents, to benefit from the service, during the next year, according to the director Pharmacy Administration in the Authority, Dr. Ali Al-Sayed.

Al-Sayed told «Emirates Today» that the expansion plan, which the authority is working on on the project, includes adding the number of cars equipped to save the drug, in proportion to the size of the request, as well as the medical staff responsible for it.

He said that the first phase of the project, which I recently launched, targets senior citizens, people of determination, and difficult medical conditions that prevent their health conditions from reaching the authority's pharmacies to receive the medicine, for citizens and residents in Dubai who hold an insurance card.

He pointed out that the beneficiaries of the service, whether in Dubai or the northern regions soon, are required to be among the patients reviewed for one of the hospitals or health authority centers, stressing that the time of arrival of the drug since the time of application will not exceed 24 hours a maximum.

He stated that the first service of its kind globally in its integration, and in its electronic systems related to the Authority's data and information, is provided through a bus equipped with the latest technologies and specifications, accompanied by a specialized pharmacist to deliver the medicine and provide consultations, and to answer any inquiries, as it is provided continuously around the clock and throughout week days.

Al-Sayyed stressed that the service aims to save the time and effort of patients in obtaining medicines, achieving the maximum degree of satisfaction for patients, and reducing waiting time in pharmacies to obtain medicines, as well as enhancing work and production efficiency in the authority's pharmacies.

He added: «Medicines of all kinds are delivered by means of refrigerated compounds, taking into account the degree of humidity, and not direct exposure to sunlight during transportation, as well as the delivery period of medicines does not exceed 24 hours from the time of requesting the delivery service by the patient.

He stressed that the service is available in all pharmacies of the Dubai Health Authority, and the authority receives daily registration requests by patients, since the service was launched days ago, as part of its continuous efforts to provide distinguished services that take into account the conditions and needs of patients of different age groups.

Seven steps to obtaining the service

The Director of the Department of Pharmacy in the Authority, Dr. Ali Al-Sayyed, clarified the mechanism of obtaining the service, which is represented in seven steps, starting with the necessity of having a valid prescription in the “Salama” system, and then filling out the service application form by the patient, whether in the clinic or the pharmacy or On the Authority’s website, or a phone call, for the pharmacist to complete filling out the application form, after which he informs the patient of the serial number of his medical prescription, so the seventh step in the doctor’s preparation and packaging of medicines comes in the parcels designated and stamped, and then attach a copy of a service request form Delivery, and a copy of the prescription m On the delivery form, at the end the pharmacist documents the provision of the service in the “Salama” system.

Beneficiaries of the service are required to be hospital auditors or "Dubai Health" centers.
