Where the infection came from is unclear, but according to infection control physician Malin Bengnér at the county hospital Ryhov, it is clear that it is a winter sickness virus.

- We have taken samples of one of the sick guests so we know that for sure.

Where does the infection come from?

- Since there was nothing left of the food when we learned this, we have not been able to take any samples on the food. But this does not necessarily mean that the restaurant has had bad routines.

Malin Bengnér explains that microscopically little is needed, just a small drop of the virus to make many people sick.

- Then it starts with vomiting and diarrhea for one to two days and it lasts for a couple of days.

Are any steps being taken now?

- It is the municipality that is the supervisory authority and they have reviewed the routines at the restaurant. But as far as I know, they haven't found anything strange.

Is this one you can count on this time of year?

- Yes, it has easily happened. The infection is everywhere in society, says Malin Bengnér.
