“The completion of the process of creating an independent GTS operator is, of course, a positive step. In fact, there are no formal obstacles to Gazprom signing an agreement with the new operator. In fact, Ukraine is moving to European regulatory standards, ”said Yushkov.
According to Yushkov, if there is a decision to sign a new agreement, then it will be necessary to formalize it according to European standards.
He also recalled that the Russian position proceeds from the need to conclude a package agreement, as well as from the rejection of mutual claims.
Earlier, the EU recognized the completion of the creation of hydraulic structures in Ukraine.
The new independent gas transmission system will begin to operate on January 1, 2020.
