This is stated in a statement published on the website of the State Department.

“The United States is committed to working with our allies and partners to continue to put pressure on Russia to comply with its obligations under the Minsk agreements and begin the process of peaceful restoration of Ukraine’s full sovereignty over the Donbass,” the document says.

On November 27, the Foreign Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Natalya Nikonorova, announced the start of discussions with Kiev on amendments to the law on the special status of Donbass.

On November 17, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that Kiev would have to coordinate the “cornerstone” law on the special status of Donbass with the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR.

In October, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky allowed Kiev to withdraw from the Minsk Agreements if the law on the special status of Donbass was not adopted with the inclusion of the Steinmeier formula in it.
