“The main challenge facing the country now is the decline in the birth rate, the threat of a perceptible reduction in the population of Russia. If we do not stop this process, the dynamics of the country's development and its security will be called into question, ”Matvienko said in an article for the Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
He noted that the key "to solve the problem is one - comprehensive support for families with children, improving their well-being, strengthening family foundations."
Matvienko also said that the bill on the prevention of domestic violence will soon be submitted to the State Duma.
