  • EH Bildu.Bildu, to María Chivite: "Do not forget that you will preside over Navarra for us"

The socialist María Chivite has taken another step on Wednesday to get EH Bildu back to support her in front of the Government of Navarra . Chivite, who came to the presidency of the regional community with three abstentions from the Abertzale coalition, met with representatives of EH Bildu to negotiate his support for the first budgets of the legislature.

A public meeting in the foral palace that was strongly criticized by Javier Esparza , the leader of the Navarra Suma coalition, described as "insulting" the equivalent treatment given to his formation and the party led by Arnaldo Otegi. After the appointment with Chivite, EH spokeswoman Bildu Bakartxo Ruiz acknowledged the "good tuning" to facilitate the first accounts of the Navarrese president.

María Chivite staged the second part of the political commitment she made last May after being surpassed at the polls by Navarra Suma, which with 20 deputies almost doubled the 11 achieved by the PSN. Already installed as president in the Regional Government for the support of EH Bildu, Chivite consecutively cited UPN President Javier Esparza and EH spokeswoman Bildu Bakartxo Tejeria to formally initiate a negotiation that was expressly required by the EH Bildu parliamentary spokeswoman .

If in June EH Bildu claimed to have a presence at the Parliament's Table -objective that it achieved by facilitating it with its abstention the PSN-, this Wednesday, Bakartxo Ruiz and Adolfo Araiz achieved the image of institutional recognition together with Chivite and its Minister of Economy and Finance Elma Saiz

Javier Esparza: "Not all of us are equal"

"Today is a sad day for Navarre," Javier Esparza warned after concluding his meeting with Chivite and while the first public meeting was taking place between the Navarrese president and the delegation of the Abertzale coalition.

"Not all of us are equal," Esparza insisted that, after winning the elections, he called on Chivite to form a coalition Government that did not depend on Basque nationalist formations such as Geroa Bai - included in the current Government of Navarra - or EH Bildu.

"The great ethical difference is that Navarra Suma has ETA murderers while in EH Bildu there are those who applaud the ETA murderers," recalled Esparza, who denounced that Chivite had "disrespected" the more than 127,000 Navarrese They voted on May 26. But Esparza justified his decision to sit next to Chivite for the responsibility of his formation with the future of the regional community.

Navarra Suma's approach is clear. "Chivite will have to choose: either we or EH Bildu." Because, as Esparza pointed out, the political principles of the electoral coalition formed by UPN, PP and Citizens have nothing to do with the proposal by EH Bildu.

A reflection also shared by Bakartxo Ruiz, who after his meeting with Chivite took great care to highlight the "good tune in many issues", such as the fit of his proposals in the Government's program formed by the Socialist Party of Navarra , Geroa Bai -la mark of the PNV in the foral community- and of Podemos.

Esparza, however, transferred to Chivite that the support of Navarra Suma is conditioned to a tax reform that lowers the tax burden suffered by families and companies following the regulations approved by the former Uxue Barkos Executive. Chivite, who in the past criticized the taxation of Barkos, now governs with his party.
