In the debate article Ulf Kristersson (M), Ebba Busch Thor (KD) and Nyamko Sabuni (L) write that they see serious problems in the Swedish electricity market. Something that they believe can hurt Swedish welfare, competitiveness and climate change.

“Today, two-thirds of Sweden's climate emissions come from industry and transport. It is mainly here that emissions must be reduced. This requires more electric cars and more electric heavy transport, and that more industries go from fossil energy to electrified solutions. It requires more electricity, not less, and electricity must be clean if the transition is to play a role in the climate, ”writes the party leaders.

The parties agree that emissions from Swedish electricity production must not increase and that Sweden must focus on fossil-free electricity production. Therefore, they want to protect the Swedish nuclear power, which they fear is about to be phased out in favor of other renewable energy sources.

“We are positive towards a new generation of nuclear power. A Swedish roadmap towards the fourth generation of nuclear power will be developed ”.
