The Government's new broadband strategy says that next year, 2020, 95 per cent of all households and companies should have access to broadband of at least 100 Mbit / s, by 2025 this should apply to the whole of Sweden, 100 per cent of the population. These goals are the same as the clerical politicians set for their own municipality. Goals that will now not be reached.

- We have built broadband to more than 1000 households in the rural areas of Lerum. We have contacted 111 households that we will not build fiber for them, but we want to have a dialogue with the municipality about alternative building methods, ”says Inger Gunterberg, press officer at Telia.

"We have not broken an agreement"

There is a non-legally binding collaboration agreement between the parties where the parties have different views on the content.

- We haven't broken any agreement. We want to have a dialogue with the municipality but unfortunately the politicians have chosen to close all dialogue with us, the only thing we can talk to is the municipality's broadband coordinator, says Inger Gunterberg.

- I want this to be lifted on a national level, because if Telia gets in trouble to expand the broadband in the municipality of Lerum, then you can wonder how they will be able to do this in even more sparse municipalities, says Alexander Abenius (M), chairman of the municipal council in Lerum.
