The large solar cell investment at Öxnehaga makes the plant the largest in Vätterhem's history. There are already solar panels on some rooftops, but the entire plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of March next year.

- 14 houses at Öxnehaga are estimated to produce 630,000 kWh, which corresponds to 1 million washes in a washing machine or almost 100 turns around the world with electric car, says Nicklas Johansson, purchasing coordinator at Vätterhem, in a press release.

Second stage planned

Procurement will soon start for another 19 houses on Öxnehaga, which are expected to be ready by December 2020 at the latest. When more than a quarter of Vätterhem's roofs are installed, solar panels will be equipped with solar panels.

Areas such as Fagerslätt and Kungsängen also use the solar cells' energy. The large investment at Öxnehaga means that Vätterhem's solar cells comprise about 680kW. Should the capacity be higher than needed, it is sold to the electricity grid.
