The Mondial-2022 from a boat? Four thousand cruise cabins will be available during the Qatar Football World Cup (21 November-18 December), following an agreement by the organizing committee and the MSC navigation company.

Through this agreement, the Geneva-based shipping company will provide two of its 16 cruise ships, the MSC Poesia and the MSC Europa, for a total of 4,000 cabins in the port of Doha.

They "will offer fans a spectacular view of the skyline of West Bay," a seaside district of the Qatari capital, said the World Organizing Committee-2022 in a statement.

"Cruise ship leasing for fans has long been part of Qatar's hosting strategy, and the country is committed to providing sustainable solutions for the one-month tournament starting November 21, 2022," the statement said.

The rich gas state of Qatar has just opened a new passenger terminal in October as it seeks to increase the number of cruise ships calling at its port. Pending the completion of the works of an extension of the port planned for 2022.

Qatar hopes to attract 1.5 million visitors during the 2022 World Cup.
