The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court has reviewed the case of an Asian maid who accuses her Gulf sponsor of assaulting her and beating her repeatedly, causing injuries throughout her body and a stroke following her hospitalization.

Details of the incident came back when the Sharjah Police received a report from a maid working in the home of a Gulf woman stating that her sponsor constantly beat her with her hands on her face and a cooking tool «hung» on her head due to disputes over domestic work, which made her hospitalized and stroke after being beaten repeatedly and psychologically affected by treatment After investigating the incident, she referred the communication to the prosecution and the court to complete the judicial proceedings.

The court faced the charges against her, denying that she had beaten the complainant and said that she had a number of maids working under her sponsorship at her home, noting that the victim had fled the house before opening the communication against her, pointing out that she had informed the labor office in charge and the police of her escape, adding that The complainant is currently outside the State as stated in the case file, claiming her innocence of the malicious charges brought against her.

In turn, the court decided to postpone the case to the hearing of 15 December next to rule in the case.
