According to the municipality of Gävle, the forms for how the competition will go are not yet complete. First, a detailed plan for the new meeting place, which is intended to be built on the same site as today's City Library, will be completed in 2020. Then the naming competition will be announced.
- We will see exactly how it will go. When in 2014 we named the area Gavlevallen or Gavlehov as it came to be called, we had a panel of famous Gävlebor and the Gävleborna submitted a number of proposals where you could also win a nice prize. In that case, we received over 300 proposals. A successful result and maybe we can do something similar with the new central meeting place, says Jörgen Edsvik (S).
