November 13, 2019With the definitive go-ahead by the Chamber, the decree on cybersecurity becomes law, which extends the special powers of the government (the so-called Golden power), which are also extended to 5G. It is one of the novelties, introduced during the examination in committee at Montecitorio, through an amendment by the executive.

Also during the Senate examination the text has been modified, with a rule also assigns to the Interior Ministry its own accredited Evaluation Center for ICT networks and supplies of competence. The certification tasks remain with the Mise Evaluation and Certification Center.

The provision provides for new measures on Cybersecurity, establishing the National Perimeter on Cyber ​​Security. In particular, the provision extends the veto power also on "deeds and transactions" of companies that hold strategic assets. In addition to 5G, the rules also apply to the stock exchange.
