Two people with intellectual disabilities have been designated for the first time as members of a polling station, one as a full member in Madrid and another as a substitute member in Noia (A Coruña) , according to the information of the 10N device made public by the Government.

Together with these two cases, 20 free sign language interpreter services have been authorized to support eleven members of deaf or hearing impaired tables, including a table president in A Coruña and two in Granada.

The rest are vowels in A Coruña, Santiago, Siero (Asturias), Badajoz, Granada and Ronda (Málaga). Also, in Alicante a blind person has been appointed president of Mesa.

In collaboration with the most representative organizations of the sector, the Ministry of the Interior has also taken measures to guarantee the participation in the elections of people with intellectual disabilities, mental illness or cognitive impairment, who voted for the first time in democracy in the elections of 28 April after reforming the legislation.

The visually impaired will have an accessible voting case that includes ballots and voting envelopes identical to those of the rest of the voters, with complementary Braille documentation that will guarantee the secrecy of the vote.
