Monaco's Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) set the fastest time of the 3rd free practice session of the Mexican Grand Prix, the 18th round of the Formula 1 World Championship, on Saturday at the Rodriguez Brothers circuit (4.304 km) in Mexico City. in front of teammate Sebastian Vettel.

The session was held on a wet track at the beginning and gradually drying, allowing the drivers to switch to dry tires and improve their times regularly.

Valtteri Bottas' and Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes finished third and fourth respectively, ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr's McLaren and Max Verstappen's Red Bull, winner of the last two editions of this Mexican GP, ​​18th in the 21 world.

Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) achieved the 7th time of the session despite a gastric indisposition.

The two Renault cars of Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg did not shoot due to contamination of their hydraulic system, which required a purge, while Sebastian Vettel encountered an electronic sensor problem early in the session.

The qualifications are scheduled at 13:00 local (20:00 in France).
