The Washington Post reported that North Korea pressured payments to Egypt after 30,000 North Korean grenades were transported to Egypt in August 2016 and seized by the United States.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs report, written from 2017 to March to May, mentions about 27 billion won of grenades from North Korea at that time and the possibility of being threatened.

The report also said that North Korea sent letters to Arab Industrialization Organization, a major Egyptian military-industrial complex, demanding payments and threatening.

North Korea threatened to release details of the grenade smuggling all over the world.

The report says Egypt's Foreign Ministry prefers to agree with North Korea as soon as possible, and in particular wants Egypt to agree before ending its UN Security Council term later that year.

The Washington Post said the Egyptian intelligence agency also said it would ease the grenade's repayment terms to lower the cost of grenades.
