A Blue Helmet was killed and five others wounded on Sunday in two attacks, in Aguelhok and Bandiagara, announced the Minusma, the United Nations Mission in Mali.

The peacekeepers were on a security patrol Sunday morning, October 6, near Aguelhok, in the north-east, when a machine exploded as their vehicle passed, killing one and injuring four, the Minusma reports on Facebook.

The other incident occurred Sunday around 1 am in the vicinity of Bandiagara, in the Mopti region (center of the country). A Blue Helmet was seriously injured. The Blue Helmets of the Minusma " were attacked by elements of an unidentified armed group and responded to this attack, " the statement said.
