Two months ago, under the false name, the S politician published an advertisement on Facebook in which he offers to smuggle people from Greece to Sweden, Expressen writes.

Uses genuine passports

The smuggling is to be done with the help of genuine Syrian passports with associated Swedish residence permits and offered to people similar to the passport holders.

"I go to Greece myself and pick them up," the man writes in the ad, Expressen.

When newspaper reporters respond to the advertisement and ask for help to smuggle three families to Sweden, the S politician responds that he has a passport that fits a constellation of two adults and one child. The man says the price amounts to EUR 3,000 for an adult and EUR 2,000 for a child, according to the newspaper.

"Want money"

After a period of communication over the Internet, Expressen's reporter meets with the man in Greece where he is filmed with a hidden camera. In the recording, the politician talks, among other things, about how he previously "got out" his whole family and that his motive is financial gain.

- I do this for money, I want money, he says in the hidden recording.

Shortly before the meeting, the man has changed the terms and says he can now only help smuggle out a child.

- I've used the other passports twice before. The passport holders must go abroad and they need their passports. I do not want to nag at them too much, ”he says before the newspaper, but states that he will return to“ help ”the rest of the group.

Confronted in Sweden

When the S politician is later confronted by Expressens reporter in Sweden, he denies that it is he who posted the ad. The man is also confronted with the hidden film material from Greece and admits that it is he who is seen in the pictures but claims that he was in Greece on holiday and denies that he had previously smuggled any person or received money for it.

According to the newspaper, the politician hears from him a few days later and then announces that he is leaving politics and that he "regrets deeply".

A local representative of the Social Democrats tells the Express that they are not aware of the man's actions and confirms that he is now leaving the party.
