WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that allows users to make their messages self-destruct after a certain amount of time, as happened in Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible".

One of the most popular features of the rival Telegram messaging app is the destruction of messages.

The latest beta version of WhatsApp on Android comes with an optional feature that allows users to make self-destructive messages, said Wapita Info, which specializes in monitoring whatsapp's experimental features.

Telegram provides a secret chat feature that allows users to specify when messages will disappear from their devices.

The ability to make self-destructing messages after a specified period of time is a required and useful feature for users who share sensitive information with friends and colleagues via the app.

According to Telegram, deleted messages are not stored on their servers, and they also prevent forwarding of messages, or taking a screenshot of conversations, to ensure that no trace of messages remains.

The feature is currently under development and in the initial phase, which means that WhatsApp has just started working on it, and it is not known when the feature will be available to everyone.
