Russia called on the UN to support the declaration of the inadmissibility of nuclear war

As the minister noted, “the protracted lack of response” to Russia's proposal to “accept a top-level Russian-American statement on the inadmissibility of nuclear war” is alarming.

“We urge all UN members to support this initiative,” Lavrov said.

Earlier, UN Secretary General António Guterres called on Russia and the United States to extend START III.

Also, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted the risk of a nuclear war.

The editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko, in an interview with URA.RU, explained Ryabkov’s similar statement to the effect that negotiations on the extension of START III were at an impasse.
