The Egyptian armed forces announced the death and injury of an officer and nine soldiers during the clash and the implementation of searches ambushes on the roads and raid terrorist outposts in Sinai.
In a statement issued this evening, the Egyptian Armed Forces said that in the context of completing the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces and police to combat terrorism on all strategic directions in Egypt, these efforts resulted in the Egyptian air force targeting and destroying 33 hideouts and shelters used by terrorist elements. To destroy 7 SUVs on the northeast direction - 83 vehicles on the western strategic direction and 25 on the southern strategic direction.
The statement added that quality operations were carried out which resulted in the elimination of 118 terrorists found in possession of a number of different caliber rifles and explosive devices intended for the bombing in north and central Sinai.
Elements of Egyptian military engineers also discovered and detonated 273 explosive devices planted to target our forces on the roads of movement in the areas of operations and the discovery and destruction of 11 tunnels in cooperation with the border guards.
A number of caches and dens were also discovered and destroyed to house terrorist elements. A number of weapons, ammunition and various communications equipment were found.
The Egyptian border guards seized 15 automatic rifles, 3 machine guns, 2 RBG launchers, 24 safe and a number of rounds.
