by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 13 September 2019The Carabinieri del Ris have identified Christian Gabriel Natale Hjort's fingerprints, both handheld and digital, where the knife used as a murder weapon was found. The young man is accused of contesting with Finnegan Lee Elder (confessed guilty) of the murder of deputy sergeant Mario Cerciello Rega.

The footprints were identified on one of the two panels of the ceiling of the hotel room where the two were staying. The panels were removed to hide the knife used by Elder to hit the deputy police sergeant Mario Cerciello Rega on the night of 26 July.

The discovery, which aggravates the young man's position, is contained in the report of the Carabinieri of Ris filed in view of the hearing of the review scheduled for next Monday, which will have to decide on the instance of the release of 19 year old Christian Gabriel Natale Hjort.

The panel was taken during the last inspection by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit, in the Prati hotel where the two Americans were staying, a few hundred meters from the crime scene. There the weapon was found, a knife with an 18 centimeter blade with which the vice brigade had been struck eleven times.

According to investigators this is an important fact as Natale Hjort has always denied having anything to do with the weapon.
