The US prohibits flavored e-cigarettes

The US will impose a ban on flavored e-cigarettes and inhalers, the country's President Donald Trump announced at a press conference on Wednesday, the AP News Agency reports.

The decision comes after hundreds of people have lung problems or chest pains that are believed to be linked to e-cigarettes, of which six people have died. An investigation has been launched to investigate what lies behind the patients.

The ban is expected to be introduced in the fall.

"At that time, all e-cigarettes except those with a taste of tobacco must have been removed from the market," said US Health Minister Alex Azar, who is present at the press conference.

The ban can be extended

Many young people in the US use e-cigarettes, especially flavored with fruit, menthol or mint. Tobacco tastes are considered more legitimate because smokers can use them to help reduce tobacco products, but according to Azar, the ban can be extended to apply even if young people switch to tobacco flavor instead.
