Maduro convenes National Security Council over Colombian military threat

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro convenes the National Security Council because of the threat of military aggression from Colombia.



It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“As the head of state and government, I decided to convene the National Security Council, which will make decisions regarding the militant threats of the Colombian government to Venezuela,” the head of state said at a meeting with members of the council.

September 10, Venezuela begins military exercises on the border with Colombia. They will last until September 28.

During the exercises, all weapons systems will be alerted.

Maduro said earlier that Venezuela intends to deploy an air defense system on the border with Colombia during military exercises.
