Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk announced on Thursday a list of ministers from the interim period after consultations between the Sovereign Council and the forces of freedom and change and the components of the political scene in the country.

This is the first Sudanese government since the ousting of President Omar al-Bashir on April 11 in the wake of protests and sit-ins against his regime.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was assigned to the names of Mohammed Abdullah, while General Jamal Omar assumed the Ministry of Defense.

During the announcement of the decree forming the government, the Sudanese prime minister pledged a firm commitment to justice and the adoption of a foreign policy that takes the interest of Sudan first and foremost.

Hamdouk said his government's priorities were to stop the war first and build peace.
