Israel launched a balloon to spy over the border with Lebanon yesterday, against the backdrop of the escalation on both sides of the border, as the Israeli army demanded a halt to the project of precision missiles for Hezbollah militias backed by Iran, and after the recent escalation of the conflict with Hezbollah, the Foreign Minister sent The Israeli Foreign Minister, Yisrael Katz, warned Lebanon through the German Foreign Minister, Haiku Mas, that "the whole of Lebanon will suffer losses and be severely injured."

In detail, the National News Agency reported that «the Israeli enemy launched yesterday morning, a balloon to spy opposite the Orontes area in the town of Mays mountain adjacent to the occupied territories».

The situation on the Israeli border with Lebanon was aggravated yesterday, as Hezbollah, according to its statements, bombed an Israeli military vehicle on the road to the Avivim barracks. The party said the attack was in retaliation for the deaths of its fighters during an Israeli offensive in Syria.

The Israeli army then announced that the shelling targeted several targets, but caused no casualties, adding that the army responded with gunfire and combat helicopters, and bombarded targets in southern Lebanon.

Hizbollah accused Israel about a week ago of planning an attack near its stronghold in Beirut after the downing of a drone aircraft, and the discovery of another over the Lebanese capital.

While the Lebanese Hezbollah militia announced the death and injury of a number of Israeli soldiers in the operation, the Israeli army and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied that any of the soldiers were wounded during the attack.

Following the recent escalation, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz sent a warning to Lebanon.

According to Israeli Foreign Ministry statements, Katz asked German Foreign Minister Haikou Mas to convey the following threat to the Lebanese government: "If you don't stop Hezbollah's activities against Israel, the whole of Lebanon will suffer casualties, and it will be harsh."

In a statement issued yesterday, Katz said Israel had no intention of continuing the escalation of the situation. "But Israel is ready to respond with full force to any attack, and the Lebanese state is the sole responsible," he said.

According to the statement, Kats called on his German counterpart that Germany impose sanctions against Hezbollah, and that Germany classifies the party as a terrorist organization.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Chief of Staff, General Aviv Kochavi, met yesterday with the commander of UNIFIL, General Stefano Del Cole, for the first time since taking office.

The meeting was planned before the recent escalation of the border between Lebanon and Israel, but touched on the prevailing tension between Lebanon and Israel on both sides of the border between the two countries.

Kochavi said during the meeting that the Israeli army is in a state of readiness for any expected scenarios, adding: «We will not accept any prejudice to our citizens and soldiers».

Kochavi stressed that Tel Aviv «will not accept the project of precision missiles of (Hezbollah) on Lebanese territory», and called on Lebanon and UNIFIL to work to stop this project.

The Israeli army revealed last Thursday the details of the project of precision missiles belonging to the militias of the Lebanese Hezbollah, led by Iran, and the publication of pictures and names of the perpetrators of Lebanese and Iranian figures.

In Damascus, the Syrian Foreign Ministry praised yesterday the "qualitative operation" carried out by its Lebanese ally Hezbollah, targeting an Israeli military vehicle near the southern border of Lebanon, the official SANA news agency reported.

A source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry said that Damascus expresses pride in the qualitative operation carried out by the Lebanese national resistance against a military patrol of the Zionist occupation.

He added that Syria renews its full standing with the Lebanese national resistance and its legitimate right, along with the Lebanese army, to work to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and liberate the rest of its occupied territories and to confront the ongoing Israeli aggressions.
