10 August 2019There are at least 30 people killed in the last 24 hours in clashes between government forces and separatists in the port city of Aden, in southern Yemen. A medical source told the DPA, explaining that dozens of other people were injured in the clashes. '' Some of the injured people are in serious condition. The death toll is likely to worsen as the fighting continues, "the source added on condition of anonymity.

Clashes are underway in Aden from Wednesday between forces loyal to the government recognized by the international community and fighters seeking independence for the south. The separatists invaded three army barracks and surrounded the presidential palace. Aden has become the temporary seat of government recognized by the international community after the Houthis took control of the capital Sana'a at the end of 2014.
