“I am pleased to inform you that Joseph Maguire, current director of the National Center for Combating Terrorism, will be appointed acting director of the National Intelligence from August 15,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Earlier it became known that the deputy head of the US National Intelligence Service, Sue Gordon, resigned on August 15, following the director of the department, Daniel Coates.
