In Yamanashi Prefecture, about one-quarter of the country's wineries are concentrated, boasting the highest production volume in Japan, but in the nationwide wine competition, Yamanashi winery won the highest award for the first time in the specialty Koshu wine category. The competition with other production areas is intensifying.
