The third suspect was released from prison at the beginning of the year

Among the three men are two detainees currently incarcerated in the prison center of Châteaudun, in Eure-et-Loir, and in the central house of Saint-Maur, in Indre. The third had been released at the beginning of the year, says Le Parisien . They had been detained on 23 July by the anti-terrorist branch, the source said.

According to the daily, the investigators feared a passage to the act shortly after the release of one of the two detainees. The latter, released in August, was sentenced to six years in prison for a stay in Syria in 2014, where he reportedly joined the Al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda.

Artisanal weapons seized in cells

According to Le Parisien, "various targets have been evoked by suspects, including prison guards, institutional sites or passersby", while the police have seized homemade weapons in the cells. While in custody, however, the three men denied any preparation for terrorist action, the newspaper said.
