The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has warned that Facebook's Facebook button on some websites is used as a tracking device.

The American Foundation explained that the Wonder button transfers the IP address of the user, as well as the type of browser and the date and time of opening the site to Facebook, once opened a site contains it, even if not clicked.

This also happens even if the user is not a member of the famous social network.

To counter tracking, the organization recommends blocking the admirable button by extending the free Pravasi Badger browsers, which Chrome, Firefox and Opera have available.

The extension not only blocks the Likes button, but also many other social media buttons and all other ad viewers.
