Egyptian star Mohammed Salah has been in the FIFA World Player of the Year award for the second time in a row.

Salah was crowned the Champions League title with Liverpool and shared the English Premier League top scorer, which enabled him to appear on the list announced by FIFA on Wednesday, and also included Sadio Mani and Virgil van Dyke of Liverpool.

The list also included Argentine star Lionel Messi and Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, the most award-winning players previously awarded in partnership with France Football.

The list also included the presence of Belgian Eden Hazard, Frenchman Kilian Mbabey, Dutch Matthias de Leicht and Franck de Jong, and Englishman Harry Kane.

Luka Modric, the star of Real Madrid and the winner of the award last year, was absent from the list and Brazilian Neymar and Frenchman Antoine Grismann were absent.
